I love to give handmade gifts. I really, really love it. But seriously, I do not have time to make everybody a handmade gift. If you’re anything like me [big ideas, no time to follow through..], I thought you might appreciate a little list of some of the shops that would be wonderful places to get some gifts this Christmas. And being that it’s Small Business Saturday, show some handmade love to these hard working mamas!
I have an amazingly talented friend, Sarah, who has just launched an etsy shop [Sarah Barga Pollasch Illustration]. She creates amazingly beautiful art and hand-lettering. Her shop has gorgeous prints and cards. You can use code 10LAUNCH to get 10% off today. She sent me one of these thank you notes not too long ago, and I can tell you it is even more beautiful in person:
I am so fortunate to own a couple of hand-stamped necklaces from Lora of Eager Hands, and they are some of my favorite pieces of jewelry to wear. She has some that are ready to ship and she also does custom orders. [use code HAPPYMAIL for free shipping]
Alyson from Vintage Sunshine makes some seriously lovely embroidered hoops. I have two of them in my sewing studio, and they are really fantastic. She also has a instasale going on Monday – so follow her on Instagram @vintage_sunshn.
Danielle from Drawstring Studio and Made by Drawstring sells fabric in one shop and seriously lovely curtains and pillows, as well as nursery decor [crib skirts, etc.]. Super high quality and hello, hedgie on a pillow?! So fun.
Another artist I really love is Mandy [Mandipidy]. She has prints and wearable art. I absolutely love this necklace of hers – I own it and seriously wear it all the time:
I really wish I could list every handmade business I know of or have ever purchased from, because there are just so many wonderful shops out there. I love being part of the handmade community and supporting lovely artists like these!
