Recently I was under the weather with a nasty cough, and I made myself an herbal tea that worked wonders in helping me feel better! This recipe is simple and easy, but will help soothe a sore throat or a cough.
Disclaimer: I am not a doctor. This recipe comes from my experience as someone who has been using natural remedies for over a decade.
Soothe the Throat Herbal Tea Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon organic slippery elm bark
- 1 Tablespoon organic marshmallow root
- Earthley elderberry elixir (according to dosage) use code SILOSAGE for a discount on your first order
- Elderberry syrup **you can use this as an alternative to the elderberry elixir, but I highly recommend the elixir! Don’t use both, though – choose elderberry syrup OR elixir**
- 1-2 Tablespoons raw organic honey
Recipe
- Boil 1 1/2 cups of water
- Pour water over herbs in a mug or other heat-safe container. Use a tea ball like this one to make straining easier (less mess!).
- Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes.
- Strain herbs or remove tea ball.
- Add honey and elderberry elixir.
This tea is especially good to drink before bed if your cough is keeping you up at night. Drink several times a day, as needed.
