Seasonal learning is a fun way to change up your homeschool days, to keep it fresh and exciting for your kiddos. You can grab a special unit study for spring or you can just add in some new activities to your daily rhythm. This list of spring learning ideas has something for everyone, no matter what age your kids are!

Simple spring learning ideas for the whole family:
- Start a vegetable garden and record the progress in your nature journal
- Plant herbs or greens in a vertical garden planter
- Read books about seeds and plants
- Forage for spring edibles (grab a free printable for this here)
- Do a family botany study of trees, seeds, and leaves
- Visit the same location (a pond, hiking trail, etc.) every week and record the changes within your nature journal
- Read books on how to care for the Earth
- Do a spring cleanup at the park or on a trail
- Use your favorite spring picture books for creative writing prompts
- Hatch and raise baby chicks
- Collect frog eggs and raise tadpoles to release back into the wild
- Set up a bird feeder and document the visiting birds in your nature journal
- Plant flower seeds in your yard and document the growth in your nature journal
- Track the rainfall for a period of time and make a graph together
- Tour a local farm, especially if you can find one that has new animal babies!
- Visit a new-to-you state park or nature center – and then visit again later in the season to see the changes!
