Use technology intentionally.
Cultivate a home full of reading, creativity, and connection.
Reset your family’s habits with The Screen Aware Family Workshop
Included in The Literary Lounge
Technology can be useful, educational, and connecting.
But somewhere along the way, screens began taking up more space than you intended.
Now…
You notice shorter attention spans.
Less quality time together.
Less imaginative play.
More resistance to books.
More scrolling – for them and for you.
And maybe the hardest part?
That quiet sense that your family’s habits don’t quite match the life you hoped to cultivate.
But you don’t want to throw out technology altogether.
You want balance.
You want connection.
You want a home where books, conversation, creativity, and real life have room to grow again.
And you want to use technology wisely, within the bounds of your family values.
That’s where The Screen-Aware Family Workshop comes in.
This is for you if…
- You feel uneasy about how much space and time screens have taken up in your home
- You want to raise kids who read books, think critically, and create, not just consume
- You’re craving more connection, conversation, and shared life in your home
- You believe technology should serve your family, not the other way around

1
Becoming a Screen-Aware Family
“Screen-free” isn’t the goal – we want to be screen aware, and we’ll star the workshop by diving into what that looks like. We’ll discuss how screens are impacting attention, relationships, family habits, and going to talk really honestly about why apps and screen-learning are negatively impacting our kids’ reading and learning. You’ll get practical ways to intentionally shape your family culture, not just your screen rules. This first session lays the foundation, so changes don’t feel forced or reactionary, but thoughtful and values-driven.
2
Analog Living & Learning
So much of our life is being replaced by screens: education is dominated by apps and digital learning, our free-time is filled with passive scrolling instead of hobbies, and families spend so much time in separate spaces on separate devices instead of enjoying time together. This session will help you strengthen connection within your family and create an off-screen life that you and your kids don’t feel the need to escape from. We’ll get practical with tips to replace doomscrolling with analog hobbies, and we’ll talk about how and when to integrate digital learning into our kids’ learning.
3
Boundaries & Habits (that actually work)
This is where we really get into the nitty-gritty with setting screen time boundaries. No one’s going to ask you to get a flip phone, throw away your kids’ iPad, or delete your social media (unless you want to do those things ;). Instead, we’ll talk about realistic, practical screen boundaries for kids and parents. You’ll get a framework for real, sustainable habits that go beyond just a social media fast or a digital detox.
