A Little Something For Me!
The past couple of days have been rough mommy days. My almost three-year-old has been… sigh…. trying my patience. So, to keep my sanity, I decided to sew something for myself. And eat chocolate.
I have a few three-quarter length shirts from Target that I really love, so I made one of my own out of a jersey knit in this fabulous blue.
I love the wide band on the sleeves.
A little close-up to see the ruffle at the neckline.
(and p.s. how do so many bloggers manage to look cute and not awkward when taking photos of their clothing? note to self: learn how to not look awkward…)

Did you make your own pattern for this? It came out A.W.E.S.O.M.E.
And at least you TAKE pictures of yourself. I won’t even post the stuff I make for myself because the pictures of me are always less than flattering. :)
Excellent job! Making my own shirts makes me scoff at store prices for clothes…
You should come link this up to my Making It With Allie Party!
The ruffle around your neck is darling (I can’t pull that look off but it looks great on your shirt!) and that color of blue looks really cute on you.
Ruffles! Love it! I’m also wondering what you used for a pattern–did you use the Target shirts as a pattern?
That is so adorable! I really love the collar! You did an awesome job! (And I am a total fan of the 3/4 length sleeve!)
thanks for the sweet comments everyone! yes, i did make the pattern – i just traced the pieces of the existing shirt (the one from Target) and went from there. i wasn’t so sure about the ruffle at the collar either, but – phew! it worked! (and i only put the ruffle on the front, not all the way around the collar)
LOL! Good question! I’ve taken a few pictures of myself and never know where to look or how to put my hands! Great shirt!
It fits you PERFECTLY! The sleeves came out great with the cuff edge and the ruffle makes it stand out and seem so modern. :)
